Dhaka, January 17, 2025 – The cluster admission test for nine public agricultural universities in Bangladesh for the 2024-25 academic session has been scheduled for April 12.
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is overseeing the admission process this year.
Dr. Md. Helal Uddin, acting registrar of BAU, confirmed the date following a meeting of the central admission committee, held at the BAU Vice-Chancellor’s office and presided over by BAU VC Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan.
The exam will commence at 11:00 AM simultaneously at designated centers across the country.
Application Process and Quota Categories
Prospective candidates can submit their applications online from February 15 to March 16. The application fee is set at 1,200 Taka, excluding transaction fees.
The admission committee has decided to retain three specific quota categories:
- 3% for descendants of freedom fighters
- 1% for persons with disabilities
- 1% for underprivileged ethnic minorities or residents of hilly regions

Participating Universities and Seat Distribution
A total of 3,863 seats are available across the nine participating universities, reflecting an increase of 145 seats compared to the previous year. The universities and their respective seat allocations are as follows:
- Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) – 1,116 seats
- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur – 435 seats
- Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka – 705 seats
- Patuakhali Science and Technology University – 423 seats
- Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University – 275 seats
- Sylhet Agricultural University – 580 seats
- Khulna Agricultural University – 150 seats
- Habiganj Agricultural University – 99 seats
- Kurigram Agricultural University – 80 seats
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the admission test, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must have passed SSC/equivalent in 2020, 2021, or 2022 and HSC/equivalent in 2023 or 2024.
- Science background with subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
- Minimum GPA of 4.00 in both SSC and HSC (excluding the fourth subject), with a combined total GPA of at least 8.50.
- O and A Level candidates must have passed at least five subjects in O Level and two science subjects in A Level, maintaining a minimum GPA of 4.00 in each exam and a combined GPA of at least 8.50. (A and B grades will be counted as 5.00 and 4.00, respectively.)
Exam Format and Mark Distribution
The admission test will follow the HSC 2024 syllabus and be conducted in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format, totaling 100 marks:
- English – 10 marks
- Zoology – 15 marks
- Botany – 15 marks
- Physics – 20 marks
- Chemistry – 20 marks
- Mathematics – 20 marks
Each correct answer will receive 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.
Exam Centers
The test will be held at nine centers nationwide, corresponding to the participating universities:
- Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh
- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur
- Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka
- Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Patuakhali
- Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chattogram
- Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet
- Khulna Agricultural University, Khulna
- Habiganj Agricultural University, Habiganj
- Kurigram Agricultural University, Kurigram
Evaluation and Result Preparation
The final merit list will be determined based on a total of 150 marks:
- 100 marks from the admission test
- 25 marks from SSC GPA (excluding the fourth subject)
- 25 marks from HSC GPA (excluding the fourth subject)
A merit list and a waiting list will be published following the evaluation process.
